Vocal Technique Refinement
Objective: Improve vocal quality and control without force.
Students will learn:
Increasing resonance (forward placement & clarity)
Releasing tension in the neck, jaw, and tongue
Maintaining tone consistency across the range
Developing a natural, healthy vibrato
Pitch Accuracy & Ear Training
Objective: Strengthen musical listening and pitch precision.
Students will learn:
Recognizing intervals (3rds, 5ths, octaves)
Singing on key and identifying pitch problems
Matching pitch with piano or reference tones
Basic melodic listening and repetition
Register Transition & Mixed Voice
Objective: Blend chest and head voice smoothly without cracking.
Students will learn:
Differences between chest, head, and mixed voice
Navigating the passaggio (transition area)
Accessing mixed voice safely and confidently
Producing power without strain or shouting
Articulation & Diction for Singers
Objective: Improve clarity of pronunciation while maintaining vocal freedom.
Students will learn:
Vowel shaping for sustained singing (Ah–Eh–Ee–Oh–Oo)
Clear consonants without tightening the throat
Breath flow between words and phrases
Basic diction principles for English, Swahili, and other languages
Dynamics, Emotion & Expression
Objective: Develop expressive and emotional vocal performance.
Students will learn:
Using dynamics (piano, mezzo, forte)
Applying crescendo and decrescendo
Expressing emotion without losing technique
Communicating mood through tone, phrasing, and breath
Songwriting Fundamentals
Objective: Introduce students to creating original and structured songs.
Students will learn:
Standard song structure: Verse – Pre-Chorus – Chorus – Bridge
Basic melody writing techniques
Crafting meaningful, memorable lyrics
Developing themes and storytelling in songwriting
Avoiding clichés and maintaining originality
Interpretation & Artistic Delivery
Objective: Help students make any song feel personal and authentic.
Students will learn:
Understanding the song message before performing
Choosing phrasing and timing intentionally
Using vocal color (soft, bright, airy, strong)
On-camera presence for online performance
Creating emotional connection with the audience
Style Development & Vocal Identity
Objective: Build a unique artistic style instead of imitation.
Students will learn:
Discovering natural vocal strengths
Exploring genres (pop, gospel, R&B, acoustic, etc.)
Developing consistent signature techniques
Building confidence and artistic personality
